Nandagokula Cultural Associates, initially known as Nandagokula, has been engaged in dance and theatre field with a slogan ‘Kaleyonde Kula’ which means Art is the only cast we know. The company consisting of twenty artists is led by Ms. Shwetha Arehole.
NCA performs dances of various dance forms including Bharathanatyam, Indian Contemporary, Yakshagana, Semi Classical and Folk. They not only perform dance, but they also actively engage themselves in Theatre plays and Dance dramas. Gokula Nirgamana is one of the most successful dance dramas of the team, and it is Directed and Choreographed by Ms. Shwetha Arehole and is written by Late P. T. Narasimhachar.

"Where Stories Come Alive in Spectacular Splendor"
Nandagokula Theatre, theatre performing wing of Arehole Prathishtana’s One of the play is “Udiyolgana Kicchu” written and directed by Prashanth Udyavara.
The play “Abhijnana Shakuntala” written by Mahakavi Kalidasa, based on an epilogue of Vyasa’s Mahabharata, is based on the same story as the happy ending of Dushyanta-Shakuntala, Kalidasa’s beautiful poem ‘Udiyolgana Kicchu’ is based on the same story. In the end, beauty will not remain here!
For centuries, women who have been wronged have protested again. Here too, Shakuntala is not only rejected and humiliated not only by Dushyanta, but also by the clown, Durvasa. But here Priyamvada, Anusuya, Gautami are all oppressed, Shakuntala protests this.
The confrontation of forest-land, nature-man, present-past, classical-contemporary is built like a statue in this experiment. Above all this, we have tried to build a modern love affair and a grand conflict of family feuds. Thus, while discussing the philosophical questions about drama, it faces the bold decision that a woman of today can take. A small spark inside Shakuntala’s coat spreads like a flame..!
